I could honestly talk for days and days about my love for Showit and how it has changed my life. Before I discovered Showit, WordPress owned my heart. Once Showit entered my life, I knew my business was forever changed. (Preface, this is not sponsored. Just in love.)
Now I have to admit, I’m still a sucker for a good WordPress website however, the features that Showit offers just cannot compare to any other website design platform available. I’ll tell ‘ya why!
Let’s be honest – it’s 2021 and coding just isn’t a necessity anymore. While it is still tremendously important for website building, a drag and drop builder is key for allowing clients to edit their own website once the design is complete. You want an image to show up in a specific location on the screen? Drop it on in!
Showit uses WordPress for all things blogging. It’s no secret that nothing can compare to the SEO capabilities of a good ol’ WordPress blog – and that’s what makes Showit even greater! WordPress has a widely known plugin called Yoast. This plugin is a step by step for optimizing for your blog for search engines (SEO). And the best part is – there’s no redirects when someone goes to read your blogs. Showit will keep you on the same domain name your website is live on even though your blogs go through WordPress.
Now I know what you’re thinking – it seems a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry – it’s actually a lot easier than it sounds. You can contact us directly for more information on setting up your Showit website & blog.
This is honestly one of my favourite features of Showit. Did you know that on average, people spend about 3 1/2 hours on their phone each day?! This is precisely why optimizing your website for mobile devices is extremely important. When you link your website in your Instagram bio, people are going to see your website how it’s displayed for mobile devices.
This can be tricky with WordPress and could potentially require some coding. But not with Showit! It gives you the opportunity to edit specifically for desktops, and then again on mobile. Check out the screenshot below to see what I mean!
Let me start off by saying Shopify is an AMAZING platform for eCommerce websites. However, if you only sell a select amount of products, Shopify can get pretty costly between the yearly cost and the cost of your theme (especially for small businesses just starting out!). With Showit, you can integrate your site with a Shopify Lite plan which is only $9/month USD. This allows you to add the “Buy Now” and “Add to Cart” buttons to your website as well as having a cart and checkout page. And best of all, you still get to manage your products through Shopify at a much cheaper rate.
For a lot of people, hosting can be confusing. When you set up a WordPress website, you must point your domain name servers to your hosting. Think of it like this: your domain is your house, and your hosting is the land it sits on. Without the land, your house has no where to sit. Showit’s team handles the hosting for you.
So, for $288 a year, you get full customization capabilities, and they handle your hosting for you. With WordPress, hosting through sites like GoDaddy or HostGator usually costs about $200/per year (unless you can find a coupon code – there’s a lot out there!), but you or your web designer is responsible for connecting this hosting to your domain. You can check out Showit’s pricing here.
All in all, Showit’s capabilities just can’t be beat. As a designer, I always honour what my clients want. However, Showit will ALWAYS be Disano Digital’s personal favourite!
